Counselling at
Pivotal Perspectives
The first step
Contact me to set up an appointment. Simple, right? And for some, it truly is. For others, however, this step takes incredible courage. If this is your first time entering counselling, please fee free to WhatsApp or email me any questions you may have about the process.
The second step
Why am I listing the steps? Because many people with anxiety and other challenges feel more secure knowing what’s to come. An important tenet of my practice is to have my clients feeling safe because that’s when the true work can begin.
Once you have your appointment booked, we will sit down for our first (introductory) session together. This session is about me getting to know you and what areas you are wanting to work on. BUT, perhaps more importantly, the session is also for you to get a first impression of me to decide whether we are a good fit. For counselling to be effective, you do need to ‘gel’ with your counsellor.
If we agree that we would like to work together, we will look at how many sessions would be optimal. This will depend on the depth of the issue but also your budget.
The third step
We begin our counselling journey together. You will notice that I do not spout a lot of psychological theories during sessions. Why? Because I believe in starting with practical solutions to your most pressing daily problems before moving to the deeper substantial areas of pain or difficulty.
I draw upon many theories and theorists in my practice. However, each client is unique, so I prefer to cherry-pick my approach accordingly.
